  Cancer Detection Centers

The ICS Cancer Detection Centre at Pedder Road in Mumbai provides cancer detection screening facilities to people at a very nominal charge. Since 1971, more than 1,65,000 people have availed of cancer check- up services at the ICS CDC, of which more than 22,000 people were referred for further investigation. During 2009-2010, 1843 people were screened for cancer at the ICS Pedder Rd. CDC, of which 320 people were referred to other specialized institutions for further investigations.

Objectives of Cancer Detection Centre:

  • Creating awareness among the people about cancer and importance of cancer detection at an early stage.

  • Early Diagnosis of Cancer, since cancer can be cured if diagnosed and treated at an early stage.

  • Providing a complete comprehensive cancer check up service at a very nominal cost to poor and middle class people.

  • Informing Clients about Cancer Insurance Policy and helping them to avail the benefits of the policy at a very nominal cost.

Examination/Tests done at the Cancer Detection Centre:
  • Chest X-ray.

  • Routine Blood test of Hemoglobin and White Blood Cells.

  • Complete ENT Examination including Indirect Laryngoscopy by the ENT surgeon.

  • Complete Physical Check-up along with Prostate Examination by a surgeon (for Men).

  • Gynecological Examination including Breast check-up and Pap smear by a Gynecologist (for Women).

Achievements of Cancer Detection Centre:

Cancer Detection Centre based at Pedder Road in Mumbai understands the need of cancer detection at an early stage and ensures that clients get proper and quality cancer detection services at a very low cost. During 2009-2010, CDC has provided cancer detection services to 1843 clients as follows:
