The
Pathology Department uses state-of-the-art equipment to provide
accurate results and eliminate
the human-error factor in pathology tests. The latest equipments used by
the department include:
The HITACHI MULTI-ANALYSER
for clinical chemistry is capable of carrying out sixteen separate types
of assay simultaneously, upto a total of 180 tests per hour. All tests
can be programmed in advance. The microprocessor directs the automated
operations of the sampler, the dispenser, the mixer etc. The
computer program also processes the resultant data and issues a
comprehensive analytical print-out, accompanied by on-going screen
displays (including reminders and warnings). Total reliability without
any need for complex operating procedures is the great advantage offered
by this equipment.
The
SHANDON TISSUE PROCESSOR automatically prepares tissue samples which are
then embedded in paraffin blocks, from which slides for microscopic
examination can be prepared. An electronic timer and program controller
ensures virtually unlimited programming
capability. Vacuum embedding is another feature
offered by this unit.
The
COULTER HEMATOLOGY ANALYZER offers the five most commonly requested
parameters; WBC, Hgb, RBC, HCT and MCV. With the help of the computer
ticket printer, MCH and MCHC values are also available. An electronic
cell counter ensures speed and precision unaffected by operator fatigue
- a decisive advantage over the standard hemocytometer utilized in most
laboratories. A microprocessor control, self-checking facility, and
electronic drift of better than 2% in a year, justifies the confidence
of users throughout the world.
The
COULTER DILUTER DISPENSER provides quick and precise dilutions. This is
of vital importance because the minutest error in dilution can
significantly affect the ultimate analysis results. The
COULTER THROMBO COUNTER counts and computes whole blood platelet values
directly from plasma-platelet suspensions.
